An agenda for each of the legislation committees listed below is available on the Senate webpage and will be updated as necessary.

The Senate Daily Summary will be published each day after the legislation committees meet. The Summary will give a brief overview on the progress made by each committee and the business each committee expects to consider the next day.

The eight Senate legislation committees have now completed consideration of the 2004-05 additional estimates. The committees are due to report to the Senate on 15 March 2005.

Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee

Defence (including Veterans’ Affairs); Foreign Affairs and Trade

The committee met from 9.00am until 1.00pm.

The committee completed:

  • the Defence portfolio
  • additional estimates consideration

Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs

The committee met from 9.12am until 1.20pm.

The committee completed:

  • the Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs portfolio
  • additional estimates consideration

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Transport and Regional Services

The committee met from 9.10am until 3.16pm.

The committee completed:

  •        the Transport and Regional Services portfolio
  •        additional estimates consideration
