2010-11 Budget estimates

Environment, Communications and the Arts Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy; Climate Change and Energy Efficiency; Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts

The committee met from 9.12 am until 10.05 pm.

The committee called:

  • the department and agencies of the Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy portfolio, including the National Broadband Network Co. Ltd; and
  • the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts portfolio, including the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Australia Council, Screen Australia, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, the National Film and Sound Archive, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Library of Australia and the National Museum of Australia.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts portfolio, commencing with the department.

Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation; Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee met from 9.02 am until 11.00 pm.

The committee called the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet portfolio agency, the Australian National Audit Office.
The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S1, calling the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation portfolio, commencing with the department.

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9.05 am until 11.00 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Attorney-General’s portfolio, including the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity, the Australian Crime Commission, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Institute of Criminology, the Criminology Research Council, the CrimTrac Agency and the National Capital Authority.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 in the Main Committee Room, calling the department and agencies of the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, commencing with the Migration Review Tribunal and the Refugee Review Tribunal.

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

The committee met from 9.00 am until 8.07 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio, including the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation, Wheat Exports Australia and Australian Wool Innovation.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, calling the department and agencies of the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government portfolio, commencing with the department.
