2010-11 Budget estimates

Community Affairs Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; Health and Ageing

For current information about the committee’s hearings

The committee met from 9.00 am until 10.10 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs portfolio, including the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 2 June 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S1, calling the Health and Ageing portfolio, commencing with the department.

Economics Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Innovation; Industry, Science and Research; Resources, Energy and Tourism; Treasury

For current information about the committee’s hearings

The committee met from 9.01 am until 11.00 pm.

The committee called:

  • the department and agencies of the Resources, Energy and Tourism portfolio, including the Australian Solar Institute, Geoscience Australia, the National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority and Tourism Australia; and
  • the department and agencies of the Treasury portfolio, including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Taxation Office.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 2 June 2010 in House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, again calling Treasury portfolio, continuing with the department.

Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Education, Employment and Workplace Relations

For current information about the committee’s hearings

The committee met from 9.00 am until 11.00 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, including Comcare, Safe Work Australia, the Fair Work Ombudsman, Fair Work Australia and the Australian Building and Construction Commission.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 2 June 2010 in Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, continuing with the department.

Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee

Portfolios allocated: Defence (including Veterans’ Affairs); Foreign Affairs and Trade

For current information about the committee’s hearings

The committee met from 9.00 am until 9.35 pm.

The committee again called the department and agencies of the Defence portfolio, including the Defence Organisation, Defence Housing Australia and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

The committee will next meet on Wednesday, 2 June 2010 in the Main Committee Room, calling the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio, commencing with the department.
