The Senate met from 10 am until 3.05 pm

Death of former Prime Minister

The President informed the Senate of the death, on 20 March 2015, of the Right Honourable John Malcolm Fraser, AC, CH, a member of the House of Representatives for the division of Wannon, Victoria, from 1955 to 1983, and Prime Minister of Australia from 1975 to 1983

A condolence motion was moved by the Leader of the Government in the Senate (Senator Abetz) [statements were made – first speaker]

As a mark of respect the Senate adjourned until Tuesday, 24 March 2015 at 12.30 pm
