John Warhurst is a Professor of Political Science at the Australian National University. He was Chair of the Australian Republican Movement from 2002 to 2005. He writes a weekly column for the Canberra Times.

Dr Anne Twomey is a constitutional lawyer and an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney Law School.
                                               
John Dryzek is a Professor of Political Science at the Australian National University. He holds an Australian Research Council Federation Fellowship for his work on deliberative global governance.

George Williams is the Anthony Mason Professor of Law and Director of the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law at the University of New South Wales. He is a media commentator on legal issues, and writes a regular column for the Sydney Morning Herald.

Margaret Reynolds was a senator for Queensland from 1983 to 1999 and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tasmania. Her biography, Living Politics, was published in 2007.

Gonzalo Villalta Puig is a Senior Lecturer in Law at The University of Hull, a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand, and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Dr Graeme Osborne is the author, with Glen Lewis, ofCommunication Traditions in 20th Century Australia    (1995, 2nd ed. 2001). He was formerly a Professor of Communication at the University of Canberra.

Dr Rosemary Laing is the Deputy Clerk of the Senate. She is the editor of Annotated Standing Orders of the Australian Senate, published in August 2009.
