How we respond to complaints
Complaints will be taken seriously and handled professionally, sensitively and with appropriate confidentiality.
You will receive an acknowledgement that your complaint has been received and we may contact you to confirm or clarify information.
We will investigate your complaint and take appropriate action. Depending on the nature of the complaint, it may be appropriate to refer your complaint to another organisation.
You will be informed of the action taken in response to your complaint.
If a complaint alleges inappropriate conduct of an employee of the department, it may also constitute a suspected breach of the Parliamentary Service Code of Conduct. Suspected breaches of the Code must be dealt with in accordance with the department’s
Procedures for determining suspected breaches of the Parliamentary Service Code of Conduct.
