2017 seminar program

About our seminars

The House of Representatives is where governments are formed and where most proposed Commonwealth laws are introduced. Through its seminar program, the House offers people interested in its work an opportunity to find out how the House actually works. Our seminars range from the basic to the very detailed – something for everyone.

Times

All seminars
Registration: 9.00am - 9.30am
Seminar: 9.30am - 12.30pm

Venue

The seminars listed will be held in committee rooms at Parliament House in Canberra.

To register

Download and fill in the Seminar Application Form. Once the form is returned the nominated contact will receive a confirmation letter detailing the arrangements for the seminar. Five working days before the seminar the nominated finance contact will be invoiced by the Department of the House of Representatives Finance Office for payment to be made prior to the seminar.

Parking

In Canberra, parking is available in the Public Underground Car Park located at the front of Parliament House (paid parking).

Comfort

The temperature within the seminar rooms can be cool; it is recommended participants bring something warm.

Payment options

The finance contact of the participant's organisation will be issued with an invoice/receipt detailing seminar costs and attendees. The invoice will include a section for credit card payment.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations notified in writing five (5) working days prior to the seminar will have fees refunded. Cancellations after this time will not be refunded. However, with as much notice as possible, a substitute participant from the same organisation may attend.

Presentations for individual organisations

COSTS (All prices include GST)

1 to 25 participants
$3,300  per seminar
26 to 49 participants
$3,600 per seminar
50+ participants
$3,900 per seminar

For presentations outside Canberra, airfares and travel expenses, where applicable, are payable.
