Inquiry into the
Provisions of the Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs and Veterans'
Affairs Legislation Amendment (2006 Budget Measures) Bill 2006
Information about the inquiry
On 11 October 2006, the Senate referred the above Bill to the Senate Legal and Constitutional
Affairs Committee for inquiry and report by 22 November 2006.
Schedule 2 of the Bill
proposes the introduction of significant new search and seizure powers
for Centrelink officers.
Lodging Submissions
Submissions are called for by 1 November 2006. Submissions become Committee documents and are only made public after a decision by the Committee.
