Subject: Life Gold Pass BILL 2002
Dear Sirs
We wish to lodge a submission re The Life Gold Pass Bill
2002.
The context in which this decision was made has changed as
the Australian Government no longer owns air lines or rail
lines.
It is inappropriate in the current financial circumstances
when Australian citizens are daily being told there is no more money in the
kitty to increase essential services to match demand, for you to even
contemplate buying in these travel perks for retiring parliamentarians at tax
payers expense.
We strongly advise that these cards be discontinued AND that a
grandfather clause be inserted so that the cards of present card holders are
phased out altogether.
