Dear Mr President
Pursuant to Senate Standing Order 38(7), I present to you an interim report of the Standing Committee on Economics in relation to the committee's inquiry into the exposure draft of the legislation to implement the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
The committee has concluded its examination of the draft legislation but requires more time to finalise its report. The committee intends to present the final report on Thursday, 16 April 2009.
