Subject: Senate Committee on: Proposed amendment to the Telstra
Corporation Act 1991to provide for the sale of the Government's 51%equity
I present my concern that basic
infrastructure in the sevice of the community,
should alwayse be under the control
of and by representatives of community interest
and not under the whim of private
interest's
The income gained by the government
from telstra operations will be a serious loss
to the nation that would be of
greater value than benefits gaind by its sale, but it
should be a principle infrastructure
that seves the community or nation, be that Roads,
Rail, Water, Electricity or Telephone
should not fall into the hands that must by its
nature seek to gain by creating
an uneven playing ground for Competition.
I remain yours most respectfully,
