Inquiry into Family and Community Services and Veterans' Affairs Legislation Amendment (Income Streams) Bill 2004

On 16 June 2004 the Senate, on the recommendation of the Selection of Bills Committee, referred the above Bill to the Committee. The Committee is due to report by 21 June 2004.

In recommending the reference of the Bill to the committee, the Selection of Bills Committee provided the following issues for consideration:

• to examine the impact of the changes to asset test exemption on retirement income adequacy and take-up of income stream products.
