ParlInfo Search enables everyone to search and obtain Australian Parliamentary
information resources including Hansards, Bills, Senate Journals, Votes
and Proceedings, Notice Papers, Committee reports, Parliamentary Handbook,
newspaper clippings, media, publications and much more. It will also search
for information located on the Australian Parliament website.
It is a major resource for Senators, Members and their staff, based in
Parliament House or in electorate offices throughout Australia, parliamentary
staff, and the general public.
ParlInfo Web, which has served us well for many years, has been replaced with new technology that provides improved search and
retrieval services for users.
What does ParlInfo Search offer?
ParlInfo Search offers a service that has:
• a single access point to a wide range of Parliamentary resources;
• a modern look and feel;
• ‘Google’ like functionality;
• the ability for users to set up alerts to receive notification
about new information resources;
• the flexibility to meet the needs of expert and non-expert users;
and
• improved reliability, robustness and quality of results;
How will I find ParlInfo Search?
A ‘ParlInfo Search’ tab is located on the Australian Parliament
website replacing the Parlinfo Web button and the Find button on all pages will take you to the Find page with a link to Parlinfo Search.
How do I use ParlInfo Search?
ParlInfo Search has a ‘Help’ tab that will include tip sheets
and a help/training video. An introductory video is now available. For internal
Parliament House clients, regular classroom based training courses will
continue to be provided by Client Support (x2020).
What about my current ParlinfoWeb links/bookmarks?
ParlInfo Search will endeavour to ensure
your current links/bookmarks to ParlInfo Web are re-directed to the right
area in ParlInfo Search. You may like to review your ParlInfo Web bookmarks and recreate your links, if necessary. If the link cannot be re-directed, the Advanced
Search/Browse page will open so you can then search for the item.
