Inquiry into the Care of ADF Personnel Wounded and Injured on Operations

On 15 June 2012 the Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, the Hon Warren Snowdon MP, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the Care of ADF Personnel Wounded and Injured on Operations.

The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by Friday 10 August 2012 . Please refer to our brochure called preparing a submission for more information.

Submitters should also note that, while the Committee is grateful for all submissions received, it is not able to take action to assist individuals to resolve any issues about their personal situation. Any such issues should be raised through the appropriate channels within the Department of Defence or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for resolution.

The Committee’s preference is for submissions received to be made public, but may decide not to publish personal information contained in a submission.

The Committee will consider individual requests for confidentiality, but notes this may make it difficult to incorporate relevant information from submissions into the Report.

Individuals who do not wish their personal details or the details of their submission to be made public should specifically indicate this to the Committee on the front page of their submission when providing it to the Committee. Individuals should be explicit about what information they do not wish to be made public (for example, an individual may request that personal details, such as names, are redacted, but advise that the circumstances of their case may be made public). Individuals may also consider presenting confidential information in an appendix to the submission to allow the body of the submission to still be published.

In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to jscfadt@aph.gov.au or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word® or Portable Document Format (PDF).
