House of Representatives Committees
Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit
The Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit (JCPAA) holds Commonwealth agencies to account for the lawfulness, efficiency and effectiveness with which they use public monies.
The JCPAA owes its authority to the Public Accounts and Audit Committee Act 1951 (PAAC Act).
The JCPAA is also one of the oldest committees in the Parliament, having first been established by the Committee of Public Accounts Act 1913.
More information about the JCPAA can be found here.
