Audit Report No. 42 of 2001-02, Integrity of the Electoral Roll

On 16 May 2002, the Committee agreed to conduct a review of Audit Report No. 42, 2001-2002, Integrity of the Electoral Roll. As part of its review, the Committee held a half-day public hearing on 17 June 2002, with witnesses appearing from the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) and the Australian Electoral Commission.

The ANAO audit resulted from a formal request by the Joint Committee on Public Accounts and Audit in 2000 to conduct an audit into the accuracy of the electoral roll.
