Speaker pays tribute to Sir John HollandSir John Holland (1914 - 2009)

 

 

 

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Harry Jenkins has paid tribute to the founder of the construction company that built Parliament House in Canberra, Sir John Holland, who passed away on Sunday 31 May aged 94. Besides overseeing the construction of Parliament House, which opened in 1988, John Holland Engineering has been involved in other landmark constructions such as the MCG's Great Southern Stand and the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Sir John Holland was acknowledged as one of Australia's most distinguished engineers.
