Inquiry into immigration detention in Australia
On 29 May 2008 the Joint Standing Committee on Migration decided to inquire into immigration detention in Australia.
The deadline for submissions has now closed. However, the Committee will continue to accept submissions from interested organisations and individuals for the duration of the inquiry. Submissions should address the terms of reference, in whole or in part. Please refer to our brochure called preparing a submission.
Individuals with experience of immigration detention are particularly encouraged to make a submission. There are options for publishing submissions confidentially or withholding certain names or details from publication, where appropriate.
In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to jscm@aph.gov.au or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word® or Portable Document Format (PDF).
