Inquiry into the development of the non-fossil fuel energy industry in Australia: Case study into selected renewable energy sectors

On 8 May 2007 the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources, the Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, asked the Committee to undertake a comparative study of the following renewable energy sectors: solar, wave, tidal, geothermal, wind, bioenergy and hydrogen. The case study will examine the relative state of development of these sectors and their prospects for economically viable electricity generation, storage and transmission.

The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by Friday 29 June 2007. Please refer to our brochure called preparing a submission for more information.

In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to ir.reps@aph.gov.au or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word® or Portable Document Format (PDF).
