A visit to Parliament House offers you the chance to be a part of democracy in action. Parliament House offers a variety of ways to experience the Parliament. These include access to the Chambers to watch Question Time and the ability to view historic documents like Magna Carta. In addition to these services Parliament House offers a dynamic experience just by visiting the building. The unique blend of impressive architecture, a stunning art collection and beautiful landscape makes Parliament House one Australia’s most significant and popular cultural attractions.

 

Self-guided Tours

Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tour brochures are available from the information desk within Parliament House. Wander the public areas of the building at your own leisure. Enjoy the impressive architecture, landscaped gardens and Australian art. The House of Representative and Senate Chambers are open to visitors and Question Time is essential viewing at 2:00pm on a sitting days. Ensure you leave enough time to get through additional security screenings when viewing Question Time

Guided tours

Guided tour within the Senate Chamber

Public tours within Parliament House are free of charge and take place at 10.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm, seven days a week. During non-sitting periods guided tours run for 45 minutes and for 30 minutes during sitting periods. Guided tour numbers are limited and are provided on a first-come first-served basis.

Paid tours

Great Hall

Paid tours are offered to visitors and guests who would like a personalised tour of Parliament House. A Paid tour can be included as a special feature for your function. Paid tours can be customised to meet the needs and interests of your group and linked to function themes. Paid tours of Parliament House are at a cost of $9.50 per person and $5.00 per concession. Paid tours can be requested out of standard business hours at a cost of $15.00 per person. During sitting periods the cost of day tours is reduced to $5.00 per person, due to the reduced duration of the tour and the restricted access to the Chambers. The minimum cost of all paid tours is $80. Bookings are essential for all Paid tours, please complete the paid tour booking form and submit it to visitor.services@aph.gov.au

Graduate tours

House of Representatives Chamber

Graduate tours are available to Government Department Graduate Programs, at a cost of $5.00 per Graduate. Graduate Tours are available 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, including sitting and non-sitting periods. Minimum numbers apply. Bookings are essential, please complete the graduate tour booking form and submit it to visitor.services@aph.gov.au

Parliament House Garden Tours

Parliament House Garden

Each year during Floriade, Landscape Services take members of the public on a tour through the courtyards of Parliament House. Participants are welcome to take photographs of the gardens, learn about the courtyard designs and plant life, and pick up handy tips from the gardeners.
