Annual Report 2005–06

Management of information systems

The department’s human resource management information system, CHRIS, has been operating effectively since its implementation in July 2005. The system has provided increased flexibility and efficiencies in administrative processing and reporting, especially in payroll processing. The additional functionality within CHRIS has significantly improved accessibility to personnel records for all departmental staff.

Over the next 12 months, we will explore the use of additional CHRIS components and look for tighter integration between the department’s financial management and asset management systems, with a view to gaining further administrative efficiencies in assets management, recruitment, occupational health and safety (OH&S), and performance management.
