Performance outlook

Key projects within the department’s management and accountability framework for 2005–06 include the following:

  • research, negotiate and write a certified agreement to replace the existing agreement, which has a nominal expiry date of 30 June 2006
  • continue implementation of the new human resource management system, CHRIS, with a view to maximising use of the system to improve reporting and minimise administrative processing
  • develop a record-keeping manual for staff and, after the distribution of the manual, provide training for staff on record-keeping requirements
  • upgrade the existing records management information system, TRIM
  • implement the new legislated requirements in relation to superannuation
  • develop and implement an attendance policy to outline attendance expected of staff and provide guidance to supervisors in relation to managing leave
  • coordinate the department’s implementation of Commonwealth-wide occupational health and safety and rehabilitation targets.
