Annual Report 2003–04

Performance outlook

Key projects within the department’s management and accountability framework for 2004–05 include:

  • the transfer of security funding and assets to the Department of Parliamentary Services on 1 July 2004
  • the implementation of policies and productivity and savings measures in accordance with the department’s certified agreement.

Staff will be provided with training in record keeping, with a focus on the provision of training for new staff. In addition, improvements will be made to administrative arrangements in order to assist staff with their record-keeping responsibilities.

Consultation will take place with Committee Office staff in order to improve workforce planning arrangements and better anticipate peak workloads.

A strategy to reduce short-term sick leave usage in the department will be developed and implemented in consultation with the Sick Leave Usage Group.
