Inquiry into the provisions of the Broadcasting Legislation Amendment (Digital Radio) Bill 2007 and the Radio Licence Fees Amendment Bill 2007

On 29 March 2007, the Senate referred the Broadcasting Legislation Amendment (Digital Radio) Bill 2007 and the Radio Licence Fees Amendment Bill 2007 to the Standing Committee on the Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts for inquiry and report by 30 April 2007.

The committee has received submissions raising complex issues on which it is currently seeking advice from the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. The committee has agreed to prepare a final report once a response has been received and intends that this will be prior to the next day of sittings.
