Oversight of ASIC
Section 243 of the Australian Securities and
Investments Commission Act 2001 sets out the Committee’s duties. These
duties include oversight of the Australian Securities and Investments
Commission (ASIC). In fulfilment of this statutory duty, the committee
holds regular public hearings with ASIC and reports its findings to
parliament. The next public hearing related to the committee’s ongoing
ASIC oversight responsibilities is scheduled for 25 November 2009 at
Parliament House in Canberra. Further details will be posted on this page
closer to the hearing date. Transcripts of oversight hearings are added to
this page as soon as they are available, and the committees reports are
linked to this page once they are tabled in Parliament.
