- establish path and timetable for legislature changes thatmay be required. Coordinate with new FMA Act and new PS Act, includingresolution of any relevant legal opinions
- commence on-going consultation process
- 5 separate appropriations, with budget cover moved from JHDto chamber Departments to fund NPPs
- consultation with staff and staff associations re naturalattrition, redeployment, voluntary redundancies etc.
- working parties set up to commence drafting SLAs
1 July - 31 December 1997
- Continue program of information sharing
- fine detail worked out of how to merge 5 departments intotwo
- finalise structures of Senate and House of Representativesdepartments
- finalise the re-allocation of appropriations
- finalise calculation of savings to be achieved
- decide on common FMIS and HRMIS
- establish new chart of accounts
- commence actual merge.
