Membership of the Committee

Section 53(2) of the Australian Crime Commissions Act 2002 provides that:

    The Committee shall consist of 10 members, namely, 5 members of the Senate appointed by the Senate, and 5 members of the House of Representatives appointed by that House.

The Act also provides that the membership of the Committee lapses when the House of Representatives is dissolved prior to the calling of a general election. The Committee is re-formed when the new Parliament meets after the general election.
