Inquiry into the provisions of the Australian Protective Service Amendment Bill 2002

On 15 May 2002, the Senate referred the above Bill to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee for report by 13 June, 2002.

The principal issue for consideration is the Government's proposal to make the Australian Protective Service an operating division of the Australian Federal Police.

Submissions may also be faxed to (02) 6277 5794 or emailed to legcon.sen@aph.gov.au. Please include your name and full postal address in all cases.

Once the Committee accepts your submission, it becomes a confidential Committee document and is protected by Parliamentary Privilege. You must not release your submission without the Committee's permission. If you do, it is not protected by Parliamentary Privilege.

The Committee normally makes submissions public at some stage during the inquiry. You may ask for your submission to be kept confidential.
