2012-2013 Budget Estimates

The 2012-2013 Budget estimates hearings will be held from Monday, 21 May to Thursday, 24 May and, if required, Friday, 25 May 2012 (Group A) and Monday, 28 May to Thursday, 31 May and, if required, Friday, 1 June 2012 (Group B). Cross-portfolio Indigenous matters will be on Friday, 1 June 2012.

Estimates of government expenditure are referred to Senate committees as part of the annual budget cycle. This opportunity to examine the operations of government plays a key role in the parliamentary scrutiny of the executive.
