The committee met in private session on Tuesday, 11 October 2005 at 4.21 pm.
The committee resolved to recommend—That—
1. the provisions of the Higher Education Legislation Amendment (2005 Measures No. 4) Bill 2005 and the Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment Bill 2005 be referred immediately to the Employment, Workplace Relations and Education Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 7 November 2005 (see appendices 1 and 2 for statements of reasons for referral); and
2. the provisions of the Tax Laws Amendment (Loss Recoupment Rules and Other Measures) Bill 2005 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 8 November 2005 (see appendix 3 for statement of reasons for referral).
