Senate Committees
Membership of the Committee
Section 213(2) of the Law Enforcement Integrity Commissioner Act 2006 provides that:
The Committee shall consist of 10 members, namely, 5 members of the Senate appointed by the Senate, and 5 members of the House of Representatives appointed by that House.
The membership of the Committee lapses when the House of Representatives is dissolved prior to the calling of a general election. The Committee is re-formed when the new Parliament meets after the general election.
