Criminal Code Amendment (High Risk Terrorist Offenders) Bill 2016

On 15 September 2016, the Attorney-General, Senator the Hon George Brandis QC, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the Criminal Code Amendment (High Risk Terrorist Offenders) Bill 2016.

The Bill was introduced in the Senate on 15 September 2016. The bill establishes a scheme for the continuing detention of high risk terrorist offenders at the conclusion of their custodial sentence.

On 4 November 2016 the Committee tabled its report.
