Thirty-eighth Report of the 44th Parliament

On Tuesday, 3 May 2016, the PJCHR tabled its Thirty-eighth Report of the 44th Parliament. This report provides the PJCHR's view on the compatibility with human rights as defined in the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 of bills introduced into the Parliament during the period 18 to 19 April 2016 and legislative instruments received between 18 March to 14 April 2016. The committee also concluded its examination of one bill and two legislative instruments.

Annual Report 2013-14

On Tuesday, 3 May 2016, the PJCHR also tabled its Annual Report 2013-14, which provides information about the work of the committee during 2013-2014, including the major themes and scrutiny issues arising from the legislation examined by the committee.

Thirty-seventh Report of the 44th Parliament

On Monday, 2 May 2016, the PJCHR tabled its Thirty-seventh Report of the 44th Parliament. This report provides the PJCHR's view on the compatibility with human rights as defined in the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 of bills introduced into the Parliament during the period 15 to 17 March 2016 and legislative instruments received between 4 and 17 March 2016. The committee also concluded its examination of six bills and nine legislative instruments.

2016 Review of Stronger Futures measures

On Wednesday, 16 March 2016, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights (PJCHR) tabled its final report on its review of the Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory Act 2012 and related legislation. This review follows on from the initial inquiry into the legislation the committee undertook in 2013, as reported in its Eleventh Report of 2013. The final report makes a number of recommendations and conclusions in relation to the legislation.
