Expressions of interest 

The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights is currently inviting applications from qualified and interested candidates for the position of external legal adviser to the committee. This position is expected to commence in January 2016.

Expressions of interest are requested by close of business on Monday, 9 November 2015 to enable the finalisation of the selection process by the end of the year.

Twenty-eighth Report of the 44th Parliament

On Thursday, 17 September 2015, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights (PJCHR) tabled its Twenty-eighth Report of the 44th Parliament. This report provides the PJCHR's view on the compatibility with human rights as defined in the Human Rights (Parliamentary Scrutiny) Act 2011 of bills introduced into the Parliament during the period 7 to 10 September 2015 and legislative instruments received between 14 and 27 August 2015. The committee also considered three responses to the committee's comments in its previous reports.
