Committee resolved to inquire into and report on the operations of the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO). See terms of reference for the scope of this inquiry.
The Committee is reviewing the following audit reports in detail:
The Committee will consider policies for developing the parts of Australia which lie north of the Tropic of Capricorn, spanning Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland.
The Human Rights Sub-Committee will examine a broad range of human rights issues confronting women and girls in the Indian Ocean – Asia Pacific region. Refer to the terms of reference for more information.
The Trade Sub-Committee will examine opportunities to expand on the billions of dollars in trade and investment between Australia and the countries of the Middle East. Refer to the terms of reference for more information.

Section 243 of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 sets out the Committee’s duties. These duties include oversight of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). In fulfillment of this statutory duty, the committee holds regular public hearings with ASIC and reports its findings to parliament.
