Terms of Reference

The terms of reference is the text of the Bill, which can be accessed, together with the Explanatory Memoranda and the Minister's second reading speech, by clicking on this link.

The Committee is particularly interested in obtaining submissions addressing the issues for consideration proposed by the House of Representatives Selection Committee, as follows:

Concern over the international implications of the bill which have been expressed by Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in their submissions to the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee Inquiry.
