Inquiry into the high level of involvement of Indigenous juveniles and young adults in the criminal justice system

On Thursday 19 November 2009 The Hon Jenny Macklin MP, Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs requested the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs inquire and report into the high level of involvement of Indigenous juveniles and young adults in the criminal justice system.

The Inquiry was lapsed when the House of Representatives was dissolved on Monday 19 July 2010 for a general election which was held on Saturday 21 August 2010.

On Monday 20 June 2011 the Committee tabled its report enititled Doing Time - Time for Doing: Indigenous youth in the criminal justice system.
