Inquiry into the use of electronic devices in the House of Representatives Chamber and Federation Chamber

On 27 February 2014, the Committee adopted an inquiry into the use of electronic devices in the House of Representatives Chamber and Federation Chamber.

Members increasingly use electronic devices, particularly hand-held devices, for communications from the Chamber. This is an issue that has been considered by a number of parliaments. The Committee considered whether there was currently sufficient regulation and guidance on the use of electronic devices in the Chamber or whether there needed to be additional guidance or restriction.

The report was tabled 24 September 2014.
