2008-09 Supplementary budget estimates

Environment, Communications and the Arts Committee

Portfolios allocated: Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy; Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts
For current information about the committee’s hearings

The committee met from 9.03am until 11.05pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts portfolio, including the National Water Commission, the Supervising Scientist, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Director of National Parks, the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Finance and Public Administration Committee

Portfolios allocated: Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet; Climate Change; Finance and Deregulation; Human Services

The committee met from 9.00am until 10.54pm.

The committee:

  • called the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation portfolio, including the Australian Electoral Commission, Medibank Private Ltd and the Future Fund Management Agency;
  • called the department and agencies of the Human Services portfolio, including Centrelink and Medicare Australia; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee

Portfolios allocated: Attorney-General; Immigration and Citizenship

The committee met from 9.05am until 11.01pm.

The committee

  • called the department and agencies of the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, including the Migration Agents Registration Authority, the Migration Review Tribunal and the Refugee Review Tribunal; and
  • concluded its hearings.

 

Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee

Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

The committee met from 9.00am until 9.30pm.

The committee

  • called the department and agencies of the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government portfolio, including Infrastructure Australia, Infrastructure Investment, the Office of Transport Security, the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics, Airservices Australia, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the Australian Rail Track Corporation Ltd; and
  • concluded its hearings.
