Condolence
On 7 February 2012 the Senate will pay tribute to the memory of the Right Honourable Sir Zelman Cowen, AK, GCMG, GCVO, QC, former Governor-General of Australia with a motion of condolence.

Private senator's bill to be debated
On 22 November 2010 the Senate agreed to a temporary order providing for the consideration of private senators’ bills on Thursdays. On 9 February 2012 the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Amendment (Bioregional Plans) Bill 2011 is scheduled for debate [homepage].

Dissent from ruling
