  • Schools Assistance Amendment (Financial Assistance) Bill 2011–1 Australian Greens second reading amendment agreed to [expressing a view about the policy of the bill] [the bill will now be assented to]

  • Australian Civilian Corps Bill 2010–agreeing to the amendments made by the Senate [the bill will now be assented to]

Meetings during the sitting of the Senate

The Senate authorised the following meetings to be held while the Senate is sitting:

  • Reform of the Australian Federation Select Committee–24 March 2011–Private meeting otherwise than in accordance with standing order 33(1)

Reporting date extended

The Senate extended the reporting date for the inquiry of the Reform of the Australian Federation Select Committee to 20 June 2011.

  • Australia’s Food Processing Sector Select Committee–to inquire into the regulatory environment for Australia’s food processing and manufacturing companies by 30 June 2012–notice given by Senator Colbeck

Notice of motion given

Senator Colbeck gave a notice of motion to require the Minister representing the Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (Senator Conroy) to table a copy of the Interim Report on the Tasmanian Forestry Negotiations prepared by Mr Bill Kelty–by 6.00 pm on 24 March 2011, or within 24 hours of receipt of the report from Mr Kelty.
