Reporting date extended

The Senate extended the reporting date for the inquiry of the Rural Affairs and Transport References Committee into the live export trade to 21 September 2011.

Notice of motion to disallow given

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances gave a notice of motion to disallow Instrument no. CASA EX48/11, made under subregulation 308(1) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 [homepage].

The Senate ordered the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (Senator Ludwig) to table documents relating to a claimed high conservation value area in the Tasmanian Forest Intergovernmental Agreement, no later than 5.00 pm on 18 August 2011.

A letter from the Chairman of the Productivity Commission was tabled in response to orders of the Senate relating to superannuation funds [The orders were agreed to on 16 November 2010 and 10 February 2011] [a motion was moved to take note of the document] .

Questions on notice–Failure to provide answers

Senator Ludlam asked the Minister representing the Minister for Foreign Affairs (Senator Conroy) why answers had not been provided to questions on notice nos 338 and 364 asked on 6 and 17 December 2010. Senator Conroy provided an explanation. A motion moved by Senator Ludlam to take note of the explanation was debated and agreed to [first speaker].
