Death of Australian Defence Force
personnel
The Minister for Defence (Senator Faulkner)
moved that the Senate records its deep sorrow at the death, on
7 June 2010, of Sapper Jacob Moerland and Sapper Darren James Smith
while on combat operations in Afghanistan. The motion was
supported.
Death of former member
The Deputy President (Senator Ferguson) informed the Senate of the
death, on 28 May 2010, of Urquhart (Ted) Edward Innes, a
member of the House of Representatives for the division of
Melbourne from 1972 to 1983.
Personal explanation
The Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water
(Senator Wong) made a
personal explanation relating to evidence given to the
Environment, Communications and the Arts Legislation Committee on
27 May 2010 during its consideration of the 2010-11 Budget
estimates.
