Notice of motion to vary the hours of meeting
A
notice of motion was given by the Special Minister of State
(Senator Ludwig) to vary the hours of meeting for 25 November 2009
to enable the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Bill 2009 [No. 2]
and 10 related bills to be considered.

Reporting date extended
The Senate agreed to extend the reporting date for the inquiry
of the Community Affairs References Committee into the impact of
gene patents on the provision of healthcare in Australia to 18
March 2010.

Notice of intention to withdraw a notice
Senator Ronaldson gave notice of his intention to withdraw a
notice of motion to disallow the definition of
electioneering in subregulation 3AA(11)
in item [1] of Schedule 1 of the Parliamentary Entitlements
Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 1) Amendment Regulations 2009
(No. 1), as contained in Select Legislative Instrument 2009
No. 250 and made under the Parliamentary Entitlements Act
1990 [homepage].

The Senate
did not agree to order the Minister representing the Prime
Minister (Senator Evans) to table documents relating to meetings of
the Border Protection Committee of Cabinet by 2.00 pm on
25 November 2009.

The Assistant Treasurer (Senator Sherry) tabled a statement
relating to an order to produce legal advice about the Health
Insurance Amendment (Revival of Table Items) Bill 2009 [order of
the Senate agreed to on
