Portfolios allocated: Broadband,
Communications, and the Digital Economy; Environment, Water,
Heritage and the Arts

The committee met from 9.00am until 10.25pm.
The committee called:
- the department and agencies of the Broadband, Communications
and the Digital Economy portfolio, including Australia Post, the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Special Broadcasting
Service and the Australian Communications and Media Authority;
and
- the department and agencies of the Environment, Water, Heritage
and the Arts portfolio, including the Australia Council and Screen
Australia.
The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 24 February 2009 in
Senate Committee Room 2S3, again calling the Environment, Water,
Heritage and the Arts portfolio, commencing with the Bureau of
Meteorology.
Finance and Public Administration Committee
Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation;
Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee met from 9.00am until 10.50pm.
The committee called :
- the Department of the Senate and the Department of
Parliamentary Services; and
- the department and agencies of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
portfolio, including the Office of the Official Secretary to the
Governor-General, the Australian National Audit Office, the Office
of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security, the Office
of the Privacy Commissioner, the Australian Public Service
Commission, the Department of Climate Change and the Office of the
Renewable Energy Regulator.
The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 24 February 2009 in
Senate Committee Room 2S1, calling:
- the department and agencies of the Finance and Deregulation
portfolio, commencing with the department; and
- the department and agencies of the Human Services portfolio,
commencing with the department.

The committee called the department and
agencies of the Attorney-General's portfolio, including the
Australian Human Rights Commission, the Family Court of Australia,
the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Magistrates Court, the
Australian Law Reform Commission, the Australian Transaction
Reports and Analysis Centre, the National Native Title Tribunal,
the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Crime Commission, the
Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, the High Court of
Australia and the Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia.
The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 24 February 2009 in the
Main Committee Room, calling the Immigration and Citizenship
portfolio, commencing with the Migration Agents Registration
Authority.
Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries
and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and
Local Government

The committee called the department and
agencies of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio,
including Wheat Exports Australia, Land and Water Australia, the
Australian Fisheries Management Authority, the Australian
Quarantine and Inspection Service, Biosecurity Australia, the
Australian Wool Innovation, the Australian Pesticides and
Veterinary Medicines Authority, the Grains Research and Development
Corporation, Meat and Livestock Australia and the Australian Bureau
of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
The committee will next meet on Tuesday, 24 February 2009 in
House of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, calling the
Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local
Government portfolio, commencing with the department.
