Community Affairs Legislation Committee
Portfolios allocated: Families, Housing,
Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; Health and Ageing
The committee met from 8.30am until 3.00pm, pursuant to a
resolution of the Senate of 26 August 2008, to consider
estimates relating to cross portfolio Indigenous matters.
The committee:

called the department and agencies of the
Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
portfolio, including Indigenous Business Australia and Aboriginal
Hostels Limited;
-
called the Department of Health and Ageing;
-
called the Department of Education, Employment
and Workplace Relations;
-
called the department and agencies of the
Attorney-General’s portfolio, including the Australian
Federal Police;
-
called the department and agencies of the Human
Services portfolio, including Centrelink;
-
called the Department of Prime Minister and
Cabinet;
-
called the Department of the Treasury; and
-
concluded its hearings.

It is issued this week by the Senate Table Office as a
convenient summary of each day's consideration of estimates by
Senate committees. On sitting days it provides a summary of each
