Community Affairs Legislation Committee
Portfolios allocated: Families, Housing,
Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; Health and Ageing
For current
information about the committee's hearings
The committee met from 9.00am until 10.55pm.
The committee called the department and
agencies of the Health and Ageing portfolio, including the Aged
Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, Cancer Australia, the
National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre, the National Health and
Medical Research Council, the Professional Services Review Agency
and General Practice Education and Training Limited.
Pursuant to a
resolution of the Senate of 26 August 2008, the committee will
next meet on Friday, 5 June 2009 in the Main Committee Room to
consider estimates relating to cross portfolio Indigenous
matters.
Economics Legislation Committee
Portfolios allocated: Innovation; Industry,
Science and Research; Resources, Energy and Tourism; Treasury
The committee met from 9.01am until 9.42pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Treasury portfolio, including the Australian Prudential Regulation
Authority, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and
the Productivity Commission; and
- concluded its hearings.
Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
Legislation Committee
Portfolios allocated: Education, Employment and
Workplace Relations
The committee met from 9.00am until 4.17pm.
The committee:
- called the Department of Education, Employment
and Workplace Relations; and
- concluded its hearings.
Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Defence (including
Veterans' Affairs); Foreign Affairs and Trade
The committee met from 9.00am until 9.05pm.
The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Defence portfolio, including Defence Housing Australia and the
Department of Veterans' Affairs; and
- concluded its hearings.
