2008-09 Supplementary budget estimates
Community Affairs Committee
Portfolios allocated: Families, Housing,
Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; Health and Ageing
For current
information about the committee’s hearings
The committee met from 9.00am until 11.00pm.
The committee called the department and
agencies of the Health and Ageing portfolio, including the
Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the Private Health
Insurance Administration Council, the Private Health Insurance
Ombudsman, the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety
Agency, Food Standards Australia New Zealand, Cancer Australia, the
Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, the Australian Sports
Commission, the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency and
General Practice Education and Training Limited.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 23 October 2008 in
Senate Committee Room 2S1, calling the Families, Housing, Community
Services and Indigenous Affairs portfolio, commencing with the
department.
Economics Committee
Portfolios allocated: Innovation, Industry,
Science and Research; Resources, Energy and Tourism; Treasury

The committee met from 9.04am until 11.00pm.
The committee called the department and
agencies of the Treasury portfolio, including the Australian Office
of Financial Management, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Australian
Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Taxation
Office.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 23 October 2008 in House
of Representatives Committee Room 2R1, calling:
- the Treasury portfolio, commencing with the Australian
Prudential Regulation Authority;
- the Innovation, Industry, Science and Research portfolio,
commencing with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
Organisation; and
- the Resources, Energy and Tourism portfolio, commencing with
the department.
Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
Committee

Workplace Relations

The committee called the department and
agencies of the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
portfolio, including Teaching Australia and the Australian Learning
and Teaching Council.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 23 October 2008 in Senate
Committee Room 2S3, again calling the Education, Employment and
Workplace Relations portfolio, commencing with the department.
Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade

Veterans’ Affairs); Foreign Affairs and Trade

The committee called the department and
agencies of the Defence portfolio, including the Defence Materiel
Organisation, the Defence Housing Authority and the Department of
Veterans’ Affairs.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 23 October 2008 in the
Main Committee Room, calling the Foreign Affairs and Trade
portfolio, commencing with the department.
