The committee met from 9.04am until 11.00pm.
The committee called the Department of the
Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
The committee will next meet on Friday, 22 February 2008,
recalling the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts portfolio,
commencing with the department, outcome 3 water resources.
Finance and Public Administration Committee
Portfolios allocated: Finance and Deregulation;
Human Services; Parliament; Prime Minister and Cabinet

The committee met from 9.02am until 11.00pm.
The committee:
- called agencies of Prime Minister and Cabinet
portfolio, including: the Australian Public Service Commission, the
Australian National Audit Office and the Australian Institute of
Family Studies;
- called the department and agencies of the
Finance and Deregulation portfolio, including the Australian
Electoral Commission; and
- called the Department of Human Services.
The committee will next meet on Friday, 22 February 2008,
recalling departments and agencies from across its portfolio
allocation, commencing with the Future Fund Management Agency.

Immigration and Citizenship

The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Immigration and Citizenship portfolio, including: the Migration
Agents Registration Authority, the Refugee Review Tribunal and the
Migration Review Tribunal; and
- concluded its hearings.
Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport
Committee
Portfolios allocated: Agriculture, Fisheries
and Forestry; Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and
Local Government

The committee:
- called the department and agencies of the
Transport and Regional Services portfolio, including: the Bureau of
Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics, AusLink, Maritime
and Land Transport, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, the
Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Aviation and Airports, the
Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Airservices Australia, Regional
Services, the Office of Transport Security and the Inspector of
Transport Security;
- called the department and agencies of the
Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry portfolio, including: the
Australian Fisheries Management Authority; and
- concluded its hearings.
Committees will meet on Wednesday, 20 and Thursday, 21 February
2008 as follows:
