New inquiry
The Senate
agreed to refer certain health
regulations, the subject of a disallowance motion by Senator
Barnett , to the Finance and Public Administration Committee to
report by 13 November 2008.
Public meetings
The Senate authorised the Economics Committee to hold the
following public meetings while the Senate is sitting in relation
to its inquiry into Australia ’s mandatory Last Resort Home
Warranty Insurance scheme :
- Wednesday, 17 September 2008, from 4.00pm to 5.30pm
- Tuesday, 23 September 2008, from 5.00pm to 6.00pm
- Wednesday, 24 September 2008, from 5.00pm to 6.00pm
Notice of motion given
A notice of motion was given to authorise the Legal and
Constitutional Affairs Committee to hold a meeting while the Senate
is sitting on 18 September 2008 from 4.00pm for the
committee’s inquiry into the Independent Reviewer of
Terrorism Laws Bill 2008 [No. 2].
