hours of meeting for the remainder of this week to allow the
Government's legislative program to be considered.

The Chair of the Standing Committee on Regulations and
Ordinances withdrew a
notice to disallow
principles that outline the process that the Secretary to the
Department of Health and Ageing will undertake in investigating
complaints regarding the responsibilities of a residential or
community aged care provider.

Employment, Workplace Relations and Education Committee
New inquiry
The Senate referred to the Committee of Privileges
matters concerning possible false or misleading evidence given
by officers at estimates hearings of the Legal and Constitutional
Legislation Committee in May 2004 and February 2005 relating to the
Government's knowledge that Mr Mamdouh Habib had been taken to
Egypt.
Public meetings
The Senate authorised the following public meetings to be held
while the Senate is sitting:
- Community Affairs Committee 20 September 2007 from 3.30pm Cost
of living pressures on older Australians
- Public Accounts and Audit Joint Committee 19 September 2007
from 11.15 am to 1.15 pm Review of Auditor-General's reports
Notice of motion given
A notice of motion was given to refer matters relating to
climate change and Australian agricultural industries to the
Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee for report by 30
June 2008.
